We have had so many questions about our move to Mexico, I thought I would try and answer some. First, neither Tyler nor I speak spanish, but we are really excited to learn it. We both took two years in highschool & hope that it will come back a little. The kids will go to a private American school. The classes are half english and half spanish, so they will pick it up in a matter of weeks. Saltillo has a lot of expatriots (that is what they call foreign executives working down there). By the way, I hate the name too. So there are quite a few people who speak english. We have already met with some members of our church down there and La-Z-Boy has a company helping us with packing, moving, unpacking, and anything and everything else we can imagine. Pictured below is the house we will be renting and a picture of part of the backyard. It is a little smaller than the one we are in now, but it has a pool and the trampoline will fit too. Plus we will still have room for a big swingset (you know the ones from Costco) and it has a built in BBQ and patio. As you can see, we are using anything we can, to get the kids pysched about going. This home is in a little gated community called Villa Bonita. It has a security guard at the gate 24 hours a day. There are quite a few expatriots living in this neighborhood in particular. In fact, one of our neighbors is from Georgia.
Tyler and I are really, really excited about our adventure. We know there will be hard times as we adjust to a new culture, but we will deal with that when we get there. As for saying goodbye to our families, well, just saying it makes my stomach hurt. We have been so blessed to live by both our families, I dont even want to imagine having to say goodbye. --Oh gosh, let's talk about something else. Did I mention that the house has a pool?

What a great experience for your family! You're going to love it. It's an adjustment, but you'll do great. Your house looks wonderful! I miss having a yard SO MUCH!
You're Spanish will come back fast, I'm sure. I've been surprised how well I've been able to pick up Portuguese with the help of my two years of high school Spanish.
Good luck getting things ready for the move. Can't wait to follow along with your adventures!
I am so excited for you and this fun time you will have over the next 3 years. You will all learn and grow so much. Although living by family is great there is something for leaving them for a while. You will be amazed at how much closer you and Tyler will become and also your kids will appreciate going to grandmas so much more.
LOVE the house. Now if we could just find one like that :)
What a cute house!!!! It will be so fun to go there!! And now you'll have to blog at least 3 times a week so that we know all of your adventures there!!! :)
It is such a cute house! I cant imagine you not in Calli! Do we get to see inside the house?? Keep the updates coming! Did you get a chance to mail that little piece of green ribbon? When we come in July you know I need to make a few more sets!!!!!
Tricia is so bad at telling me news. I can't believe you guys are moving to Mexico. Didn't you just move to Yucaipa? What are you doing with your house? Will you be coming back to the same place? It will be a fun adventure for your kids. You will have to blog a lot so everyone knows what life is like in Mexico!
I can't believe it! Your house is beautiful and what a yard! The kids will love it. I know I don't live in Cali, but I loved when I visited that you were a staple. Now what will I do?? When exactly do you leave? You will be missed and you will have to do more updates! Take care!
